In the USA, the minimum age for kids to work is set at 18. Furthermore, not all states set the age at 18. If the government of a particular state sets the minimum age for kids to work at a lower age than that stipulated by the federal government, then the minimum age for kids to work should be considered a voluntary employment age.

The federal government can set the minimum age for kids to work at any age. But, the laws regarding the age of work are the ones that determine whether a kid can work or not. The parents can send their children to work during school holidays. And in the summer season if their children are below the age of eighteen.

If the state sets the minimum age at twenty-three, the federal minimum age is the minimum age.
